Middle East Conflict: Atradius Eases Rules for Credit Insurance Customers
The credit insurer Atradius wants to actively support its customers in the Middle East. To that end, it is now offering greater flexibility in payment processing and in dealing with potential delays.
Expanded Regulations for Selected Countries in the Middle East
Many companies operating in the Middle East are suffering from current geopolitical developments, which are having a noticeable impact on international supply chains and trade flows. As a result, revised regulations now apply to business relationships in the following countries: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Jordan.

Extended Reporting and Collection Deadlines
The deadline for reporting instances where the maximum extension period has been exceeded and for transferring past-due receivables to a collection agency has been extended from 30 days to 60 days.

More Flexible Payment Arrangements
In the future, Atradius customers will be able to extend payment terms even without prior approval, provided that the terms fall within the specified 60-day period.
This also applies to payment instruments such as checks, bills of exchange, or documentary acceptances. In these cases, an automatic 30-day extension is possible, provided that the relevant documents are reissued and the legal claims remain in effect.
Important Note
The original due dates of the claims remain decisive for all contractual provisions—in particular, for the maximum extension period, the automatic termination of insurance coverage, or the occurrence of an insured event. All other contractual terms and conditions remain unchanged.
Duration of the Measures
The adjustments described above apply immediately to all receivables for which the maximum extension period ends after March 31, 2026—until further notice.
